I would be reluctant to share a PDF because the PDF contains sensitive customer data. Also, for some applications, it is better to change the preferences without any document opened. Everytime a user logs in, the server and policies resets to the install defaults, hence overwritting your preferences. If you copy the document to a short path, it opens flawlessly. The problem only occurs with a PDF from a specific source. It is possible that when the software was installed centrally (from deployment server) the preferences were added to a roaming folder. The file simply won't open or opens a blank document. We have tested this in multiple scenarios and have found that Acrobat has this problem with any long file path.
